Zoals
alles van één rijk vermeerderd is, zo moet alles wat naar dat ene tracht terug te keren, de veelheid afleggen;
dus heeft de ziel niet succesvol lief, totdat ze zich uit verlangen naar de liefde tot het ene
en hoogste goed wendt. |

Just like everything proceeded from one to many, so all that tries to return to that unity, of necessity has to shed multiplicity.
Consequently, soul's love bears no fruit, until she turns herself towards unity and the highest good because she longs for
love/needs love. |

Wij
moeten apart gezette en eenvoudige liefhebbers van de eeuwigheid en eenheid zijn, dat wil zeggen los staan van de menigte
en van de massa van zaken die
ontstaan en vergaan, als we willen vasthouden aan de ene God, onze Heer.

ziel die van God houdt, kan van niets anders houden, want Zijn Liefde is drie en één. |

Zoals
uit het ene de veelheid ontstaat en het aantal zich vormt, en wanneer we ernaar verlangen naar de eenheid terug te keren,
we de veelheid moeten wegnemen, zo
moeten we om ons met God te herenigen, de gelofte van een gelovige Liefde terugbrengen tot Hem alleen. |
