Ick ben noch eens ontvlucht/ ick ben noch eens ontspronghen
Der Honden groot ghewelt die my zoo vreeslick dronghen2/
Mijn hert/ mijn hert beswijckt/ den adem ben ick quijt/
Ick hijg’ ick hijg’ ick hijg’/ ick hebbe gheenen tijdt.
Mocht ick3 in die Fonteyn mijn tonghe wat besproeyen/
Die met een sacht ghedruys gaet door de bloemkens vloeyen/
Ick worde weer ghejaecht. Het is om niet versint4/
Eert een Verdriet ophout het ander weer begint.

Ik zou bij die fontein die tussen de bloemen stroomt wel wat kunnen drinken. Ik word alweer opgejaagd, heb het voor niets bedacht. Al voor het ene verdriet ten einde is begint het volgende. |

Zoals een uitgeput hert wordt verkwikt in koel water, zo ben jij het die mij vermoeit, èn mij verkwikt. |
